    Matt Notley is a vice president in Edelman’s Sacramento office. With a professional history that spans nearly two decades in public relations, public affairs, marketing and a stint in the news media, Matt has the experience necessary to help clients think big and effectively leverage the media. Matt has been with Edelman Sacramento since 2014, leading the public affairs activities for several clients with a focus on water, agricultural and environmental issues. Matt got his start in public affairs when he was appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in the fall of 2007 as Assistant Director of Public Affairs for the California Department of Water Resources. Matt began his career as the News Editor for the Chico News & Review – also contributing to the Sacramento News & Review – covering state and county government, environment, crime and social issues affecting Northern California. Matt received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University, Chico in 1998.

    Rachel Smith is the Owner of WordSmith Communications. She has over a decade of experience managing local, statewide, and national PR campaigns for some of the world’s largest companies such as Ford, Walgreens, and McDonald’s. She has spent her career managing relationships with media, elected officials, and local influencers to promote brands, people, and ideas through strategic earned media campaigns, events, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.

    Madison is an Assistant Account Executive working within our Public Affairs Practice. She specializes in political communication and supports the FSB staff with grassroots, events, and media relations. Madison is a Sacramento native who has spent most of her career working on statewide and local initiative campaigns, as well as several candidate campaigns. Madison’s experience prior to joining FSB Core Strategies includes serving as the Field Director and College Coordinator for “No on Measure Z” campaign; a Fellow at Meridian Pacific, Inc; and as Staff Assistant to the Professional Development Director at California Special Districts Association. Madison graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from Sonoma State University.

    Casey Camacho is a senior year at Sacramento State University pursuing a degree in communication studies with an emphasis in public relations. As the current Sacramento Public Relations Association Intern, Casey assists with student outreach programming, member research and mega-mixer events among various other duties. He currently works as ABC10’s marketing and public relations intern supporting brand strategies, planning and executing community and partnership events, as well as building out social media campaigns. Prior internship experience also includes Broadway Sacramento, where he supported the PR and Marketing departments by managing equity-level playbill content, and supporting media relations, marketing and social media promotions.

    Daisy Castellón, is an account executive for one of Sacramento’s leading public affairs firms, Lucas Public Affairs, she provides day-to-day strategic communications, media relations and social media support to a number of Lucas Public Affairs’ clients, particularly in the areas of healthcare, civic engagement and higher education. Prior to joining LPA, Daisy worked for a public affairs firm that focused on outreach to multicultural and bilingual populations. Daisy also interned in the California State Assembly, conducting legislative research, managing monthly newsletters and creating social media content. Daisy graduated from California State University, Sacramento and holds a BA in Government Journalism. She is fluent in Spanish.

    Jennifer has nearly 20 years of public relations and media experience and recently started her own PR consulting business. Before taking that leap, Jennifer was the Director of Public Relations for Visit California, the state’s tourism marketing organization, overseeing global public relations strategy, crisis communications and public affairs.Jennifer previously served as Director of Communications for the California Department of Housing and Community Development and Vice President at Halldin Public Relations. She started her career as a TV news producer at multiple local TV stations.Back in the 00’s, Jennifer served on the board of directors and eventually as president of SPRA. She was the recipient of the organization’s Professional PR Person of the Year award in 2010.When she’s not promoting travel, Jennifer is usually planning her next trip (or two), hanging out with her dog Maddie.

    Sarah Pollo is the owner of Pollo Communications, Inc. Prior to creating Pollo Communications, she served as an Account Supervisor at Ogilvy’s Sacramento office. During her tenure, she was responsible for managing the firm’s public outreach campaign for the City of Sacramento’s Accelerated Water Meter Program, the California Community Colleges Career Education campaign and Covered California’s open enrollment media outreach. She also served on Ogilvy’s National Media Influence team. Sarah serves as an appointee on the Sacramento Metropolitan Cable Television Commission, Emeritus Board Member for Sacramento State’s Policy & Politics Alumni Association chapter and is a member of the Sacramento Public Relations Association board of directors, East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, East Sacramento Women’s Club and Sacramento Press Club. She graduated from Sacramento State with a B.A. and M.A. in Arts in 2006 and 2015 respectively. Her firm’s current clients include California Women Lead, AltAir Paramount, The Landmark Murals and Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Dorado County.

    Tori Anadon-Burnie is a Marketing Strategist at KXTV/ABC10, a top 20 local news station that serves the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto area. In this capacity, she is responsible for promoting the station on all media and outreach verticals, in addition to serving station clients. Tori graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. She began her career in public relations and has served as a SPRA board member since 2012. In addition to her work for SPRA, she is also Board President for Aging Up, a not-for-profit organization that connects local youth with experience in foster care with mentorship, life skills and educational opportunities. In this capacity, she serves passionately and assists with marketing and fundraising efforts. Tori spends her free time enjoying her adorable dog, dining with friends and enjoying Sacramento amenities.
