New Media! Social Marketing! Web 2.0! The call is out to get on board now or the ship will sail off without you. Learn how your clients can benefit from either building their own website or partnering with another web based business. Get a behind the scenes look at creating a new website with our featured speaker Jackie Taylor. Ms. Taylor will be joined by her web hosting team, American Web Services, to help answer technical questions. Topics will include:
- How to get from concept to concrete – building off what you already know
- What skills are needed and how to find professional help
- Find out what it means to optimize for search engines
- Ways to make your site fun and easy to navigate
- How to make good use of blogs and social networks like Facebook and Youtube.
- Finding sponsors and ad sales
- Marketing and promotions through relationship building and partnerships
OodleboxTV.com is an extension of Jackie Taylor’s other life as a “Do it Yourself” gardener and builder. Ms. Taylor co-authored a guide to gardening “Grounds for Improvement: 40 Landscape Designs and Projects” with the DIY television network where she hosted the program “Grounds for Improvement.” She conducts workshops at Borders Books entitled “Learn how to Plan Your Landscape Makeover” and “Power tools 101.” She also appears on KQCA My 58 Thursday mornings for a special segment demonstrating do-it-yourself projects.
Ms. Taylor has developed important relationships with other businesses for OodleboxTV.com. Included are: Sunset Magazine, KCRA and KQCA, Silverado Landscape and building materials, Smith & Hawkin Fine Outdoor Furnishings, Border’s Books and the Make a Wish Foundation – with more on the horizon.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE - Noon on Monday, May 12, 2008
The cost is $25 for SPRA members and $30 for nonmembers. The cost to
all registrants after the deadline is $30. Please pay, at registration, with cash,
check, or money order.
There is limited street parking and the
Firehouse Restaurant will supply $5 parking vouchers for the City
garage.
